daily special - 8/6/09

At long last, the daily special has returned! And in a big, big way.

After almost two weeks of tinkering, playing, and experimenting, I finally have down the newest (and perhaps tastiest) addition to Exquisite Ambrosia's menu yet. I call it:

The Bad Twin Cupcake

Almost a direct antithesis to the Original, the Bad Twin, as its name implies, delves into darker territory than its milquetoast (though incredibly delicious) counterpart. A rich dark chocolate cake enhanced by a full-bodied, somewhat smokey red wine, a kiss of cherry flavor, and dull notes of spice to finish, the Bad Twin might put all other E.A. cupcake variations to shame in terms of the sheer complexity of flavor, and the lingering effect it has on the palate. This is not for the weak of taste buds.

Try one today for a mere dollar with your order.

As of tomorrow, the Bad Twin will be added to the menu and sold to order for $18 for a dozen and $26 for a batch.

Don't continue living your life without trying this cake. It makes colors brighter.

UPDATE

Apologies for the lack of activity as of late. In between the orders I've been getting, my online classes, a short film we've been working on, and the fact that I recently discovered Lost reruns on Syfy, my schedule's been pretty hectic.

Anyway. I'll make this brief. Daily specials will be coming back starting tomorrow. Check back for it, because I've been working on a new recipe for the past week and, all modesty aside, it might be the best thing I've ever tasted.

Also, check back later tonight and then again tomorrow for the delayed updates to Baking Quest, featuring the science of sugars and dairy products. Riveting.

I'm also thinking of putting together a new menu and putting out some advertisements in the local papers, so, as always, your input is appreciated.
